Steampunk-Inspired Wedding

I know that a lot of people are into the whole "steampunk" look, which I think is awesome. But, not a lot of people incorporate that style into their wedding. So I thought, why not try it?! I think that for a good number of people, doing a full-blown steampunk wedding would be a little over-the-top. Afterall, many true "steampunk-ers" wear goggles, big top hats, and extreme Victorian outfits. That may be pretty cool, but for the majority of us, it's just a little much. But, if you're in to the whole industrial, mechanical look of this fad, you can definitely pull it off in your wedding without going crazy. Clocks, cogs and mechanical-type pieces pull the look together nicely. Don't you just love the idea of using something so un-wedding (like cogs and wheels) and turning it into a pretty, romatic display? Steampunk CAN be beautiful!

steampunk wedding ideas

Center: bouquet
First row: escort cards, cakecouple, tie
Second row: boutonniere, earrings
Third row: shoes, cufflinks
Fourth row: bride, pocket-watch, candles, fascinator

Don't know what steampunk is? Check out this article explaining where it came from! The author does a good job of breaking it down so you can understand it easily. Really interesting read!

Our art deco/Bioshock 2 theme will have some steampunk elements like the cogs and wheels.
We are basically going to try to recreate Rapture.
